St Andrews is a wonderful and historic town situated in one of the most beautiful coastal areas of Scotland. It was a place of religious pilgrimage for centuries after the bones of Saint Andrew were housed in the great St Andrews Cathedral.
It is still a place of pilgrimage today, whether it be for academic, religious or sporting reasons. For golfers it is known as ”The Home of Golf”.
Mary Queen of Scots played golf on the links here in 1567 and hawked by the Eden estuary. In 1553 the Archbishop of St Andrews issued a decree giving the local population the right to play golf on the links at St Andrews.
I am delighted to be having this exhibition, which coincides with the 150th Open Championship on the Old Course, and we have the opportunity to welcome visitors from around the world to this special place in Scotland.
The upcoming exhibition will showcase a stunning new collection of fine art oil paintings, canvas and limited edition prints in a series inspired by the beautiful and historic Old Course in St Andrews. A diverse and unique exhibition not to be missed.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
