About Discover the Deep
Explore the deep sea through Dynamic Earth's brand-new gallery. Meet Scotland's pioneers of marine science, including Edinburgh's own Charles Wyville Thomson, whose exploration of Scotland's marine environments in the 19th century launched the modern science of oceanography. Dive into the depths of the sea and witness incredible habitats and creatures of the deep including Scotland's very own cold-water reefs. When you resurface you can meet the scientists of today and explore the equipment they use to understand and explore this massive environment so deeply connected to the health and wellbeing of us all.
