Dusherra 2024: A Grand Celebration of Light, Culture, and Victory!
On 19th October 2024, join us atop Calton Hill, Edinburgh for an unforgettable celebration as the Scottish Indian Arts Forum (SIAF) marks its 30th anniversary with its flagship event—Dusherra!
Step into the vibrant world of one of India’s largest and most beloved festivals, where ancient legends come alive. Dusherra commemorates the epic 10-day battle between gods and demons—a timeless struggle between good and evil. This iconic festival symbolizes the triumph of light over darkness, celebrated with electrifying music, dance, mouth-watering cuisine, and the dramatic burning of effigies, symbolizing the destruction of evil.
This year, the celebration reaches new heights as we weave together the best of Scottish and Indian music and dance, bringing two rich cultures together in a spectacular fusion of sights and sounds. The evening culminates in a breathtaking fireworks display lighting up the Edinburgh skyline, creating an awe-inspiring finale.
As we celebrate SIAF’s 30 years of promoting Indian culture and heritage, we invite everyone to join us in making this Dusherra the grandest yet! Let’s come together to spread the spirit of Indian culture, unity, and tradition across a diverse community and welcome thousands to this momentous occasion.
Be part of the magic. Be part of the story.
