Ayr & District Flower Show
The Ayr & District Flower Show is now in its seventh year. This year it will be held on Friday 15th and Saturday 16th August, open from 10am until 5pm each day. Come along to Ayr Racecourse KA8 0JE and enjoy the event. Tickets are available for £7 at the gate, with children under 16 free. Parking is also free.
Exhibits this year include vegetables, cut flowers, begonias, cacti, pot plants, handicrafts, baking and more.
Best Exhibits in each section will receive a keepsake prize.
Around 70 traders will join us at the Racecourse, many new this year. If you are looking for a new lawnmower or handbag you will find it there. We will be joined by a new plantsman coming up from England with his shrubs, trees, palms, fruit trees and houseplants. He has won gold medals at The Southport Flower Show and The Chorley Flower Show.
Anyone buying a program at the event is in with the chance of winning a prize donated by local supermarkets, just look for the winning mark inside.
There will be musical entertainment each day and Ayr Hospital Radio will be there covering the event. You don’t need to be in hospital to listen you can go to there website www.ayrhospitalradio.co.uk to hear coverage from the event.
We have display stand by the Scottish Orchid Society, Ayr & District Beekeepers and Ayr Model Railway Group. Ayrshire Federation, Scottish Women’s Institutes will be demonstrating many of their skills.
This year we will be joined by the National Vegetable Society. The Scottish Branch will host the 64th National Championships. There will be vegetable collections, classes for onions, leeks, carrots, potatoes, peas, parsnips and more. All grown to the highest standard. A trophy being awarded in each class.
As well as the exhibition there will be many traders joining them. This will take place in the Princess Royal Suite but don’t worry there is a lift as well as the stairs to get you there.
