Flight Club is going on tour, and you’re invited! From the 3rd to the 22nd October, Flight Club is touring the country in a fire engine (more on that later!), visiting its venues nationwide to celebrate Flight Club’s 10th birthday and to raise money for its charity – the Yellow Ball Foundation.
The Flight Club crew will stop off in Edinburgh on 14th October, where they will park up the fire engine and spend the day dishing out goodies to passers-by around St James' Square. Locals should come along to join in the birthday celebrations and get their hands on some freebies.
On the evening of the 14th of October, Flight Club will host a special charity tournament inside its St James' Square venue to raise money for 21 local and national charities, including Edinburgh's Cyrenians, a charity dedicated to supporting the homeless.
This night of entertainment, starting at 6 pm and finishing at 9 pm, promises to be one to remember. You'll have the chance to unleash your competitive spirit and win incredible prizes—all while helping to support some amazing causes.
Think:
• 3 hours of gaming led by Flight Club’s gamesmasters
• Unlimited pizza all night long and a welcome round of drinks
• Prizes to be won (including a £1,000 bar tab)
Tickets are £250 for a team of five, with every penny going to charity. Book tickets to the Flight Club Edinburgh charity tournament event here.
Why the fire engine?
The Flight Club team is no stranger to mammoth fundraising projects. In fact, a 2010 fundraising expedition around the globe in a fire engine (hence the fire engine connection) is where it all began for Flight Club.
Co-founders Steve and Paul, CFO Ross and a crew of friends circumnavigated the planet in a fire engine in memory of Steve's father, who spent 33 years serving as a firefighter. They raised £120,000 for three charities (Macmillan Cancer Support, The Fire Fighters Charity and The Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation) and achieved a Guinness World Record.
The expedition taught Steve and the crew the skills they needed to launch a business and, more importantly, underlined their passion for bringing groups of friends together for unforgettable moments of joy. Five years later, Flight Club was born, with the first venue opening in London’s Shoreditch. Fast-forward ten years, and there are now 28 venues around the globe, with plenty more on the way.
Fifteen years after Steve and the gang headed off on an incredible adventure around the world, “Martha,” the original fire engine, is coming out of retirement, especially for this special 10th anniversary tour.
