The forthcoming festive season at The O2 Academy in Edinburgh is going to be wild – get ready
Forget a boring beige Christmas in Edinburgh. This festive season at The O2 Academy, Bongo’s Bingo is transporting everyone back to the time when coloured tree lights and flammable tinsel ruled supreme. Because the halcyon days of turkey with all the trimmings, mini bottles of Babycham and not a naughty elf in sight are back big time at Bongo’s Bingo. There’s no better place to honour St Nick than a series of jubilantly nostalgic shows celebrating all things Christmas, followed by the Big Fat Bingo of the Year to usher in out the year in the craziest of styles.
Bongo’s Bingo co-founder Jonny Bongo says: says: “The festive season is our favourite time of the year! We’re absolutely hyped for our Christmas Cracker shows and Big Fat Bingo of the Year dates as we see out 2025 in the only way we know – all out chaos. Edinburgh is going to go wild this Christmas and myself and the team can’t wait to share the magic and mayhem with everyone.”
The Christmas Cracker dates are: Sat 22nd, Weds 26th (student special) and Friday 28th November. Then Weds 10th (student special), Weds 17th and Thurs 18th. Big Fat Bingo of the Year dates is: Wednesday 31st December NYE. Tickets for all shows are available at: https://www.bongosbingo.co.uk/city/40/edinburgh/
Christmas is of course the best time for the biggest celebrations, and the Bongo’s Bingo team are delivering a run of epic dates at The O2 Academy. So get prepared for the ultimate nostalgic Christmas experience - all the best Christmas tunes, dodgy Santa Clauses and foil cracker hats in abundance. It’ll almost like being back in gran’s living room – yes, with the dodgy carpet and flying ducks on the wall - except this time there’s hundreds of other people going wild to bingo, plus dance offs, ace festive prizes and plenty of raving with all the gusto in the world.
And for this year’s Gooch (this is the weird, off-kilter limbo period between Xmas and the New Year when nobody knows what day it is) the format switches with an ode to 2025: welcome to Bongo’s Bingo’s Big Fat Bingo of the Year shows. This is a head-first, deep dive into all the biggest memes, tunes and cultural moments of 2025 - Lafufus, 100 men vs Gorilla, Donald Trump’s micro member and of course the legendary Ibiza Final Boss, plus plenty of bingo-rave fun. The perfect place, really, to burn off the festive calories and see out the final days of the year with friends, family and colleagues.
