This September, Edinburgh’s Italian wine bar Divino Enoteca, is offering plenty for food and wine lovers to explore – from this month’s free wine tastings inspired by Europe’s royal courts to a new four-course tasting menu for the month, celebrating the flavours of late summer before the seasons turn.

On Sunday 7th and 21st, Divino invites wine lovers to step into the world of kings and nobles with two free wine tasting events, celebrating four of the most prestigious wines in Europe. Highlights include Fiano di Avellino Pietramara by I Favati, a nutty white once enjoyed by the King of Naples, alongside Vino Nobile di Montepulciano by Valdipiatta, cherished by Renaissance nobility. Each wine will be paired with small bites from the kitchen in Divino’s atmospheric stone-walled setting.

For those seeking a fuller seasonal experience, Divino’s September tasting menu celebrates the last flavours of summer across four courses, inspired by fresh, late-summer ingredients and classic Italian techniques. Guests can enjoy dishes such as baby octopus slow-cooked in aromatic tomato sauce and a ricotta tart with brandied black cherries to finish. The menu offers a warm, inviting way to welcome the autumn months, making it a highlight of a relaxed evening out in Edinburgh’s Old Town.
