Edinburgh, 20 September — Iconic Edinburgh family business The Pakora Bar has unveiled their groundbreaking pale ale, "Chakk De Phatte", at an exclusive launch event in their Holyrood Road venue.
Scotland’s first Mango Lassi Pale Ale, aptly named after the Punjabi phrase like ‘cheers’ or ‘slainte’, is set to redefine how we enjoy Indian cuisine, emerging as the ultimate beer to pair with pakoras and curries.
Unlike traditional ales, "Chakk De Phatte" - recently awarded bronze at the prestigious Scottish beer awards - offers a sweet, fruity profile, bursting with fresh mangoes, malty sweetness, and a velvety mouthfeel. The pale ale has been carefully crafted over the years by the Singh family, with John Singh initially sparking the idea and his sons, Mark, Paul, and Brian, perfecting the recipe.
The result is a beverage that enhances the flavours of The Pakora Bar's signature dishes, making it the go-to choice for those seeking the perfect drink to accompany their favourite Indian meals.
The launch night was a tremendous success, with guests raving about the pale ale's unique flavour and its perfect flavour matches to The Pakora Bar's menu. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with many calling it a "game changer" in the food and drink industry.
Mark Singh, co-owner of The Pakora Bar & Chakk De Phatte, expressed his enthusiasm: "Everybody loves a good curry and a nice beer, so we decided to create a pale ale that not only complements but elevates the experience of enjoying pakoras and curries. 'Chakk De Phatte' is the result of years of dedication, and we’re thrilled with the phenomenal response from our customers."
Set to become a staple in Scottish dining, "Chakk De Phatte" is now available on tap and in cans at The Pakora Bar, as well as in a selection of exclusive restaurants across Scotland.
