Nine food vendors will be offering up mouth-watering meals and snacks at their two iconic festival venues, run in collaboration with the acclaimed Pleasance Theatre Trust.
At the Pleasance Dome:
Mac Love returns with its popular mac ‘n’ cheese outside the Pleasance Dome on Pleasance Plaza, named as one of the Fringe’s top places to be. Visitors can also experience the popular interactive simulation Séance & Flight (Pleasance Theatre Trust) in the plaza (though maybe before ordering a deluxe cheesy pasta!).
Inside the Dome, the Bar & Kitchen will provide a full food and drinks menu, perfect for a proper pit-stop between shows.
At Pleasance Courtyard:
The Pleasance Courtyard will be packed with city favourite bars and food vendors, sitting under a canopy of umbrellas and tents in the traditional cobbled courtyards. It’s a great place to enjoy the buzz of the festival, come rain or shine.
We've some exciting newcomers this year including South Queensferry’s Little Parlour Ice Cream have one of the best gelatos in Scotland. We believe you can eat ice cream whatever the weather! For those with more of a savoury tooth, Doorstep Deli, established in Edinburgh for over 22 years, offers high quality food and drink from Scotland, Italy, Spain and France. The business’ Italian descent inspires its passion for food and wine.
Total Meltdown will return to the Courtyard, boasting the “best grilled cheese sandwiches”. Using sourdough bread, mature cheddar and high-quality ingredients, no wonder its food was rated 10/10 by The Sunday Herald.
Harajuku Street Food, famous for its delicious street food from Stockbridge Market and awarded Best Street Food in Scotland (Scottish Food and Drinks Awards 2018), offers its famous Karaage Fried Chicken and Stir-Fry Yaki Udon Noodles at this year’s Fringe.
Meanwhile, city-favourite Mimi’s Bakehouse returns to the Pleasance Courtyard Green with their mouthwatering baked goods, as well as Machina coffee, Eteaket tea, Luca's ice cream and savoury lunch options. Situated beside our ‘Kid's Zone’, families will especially love this option.
Edinburgh's gourmet burger stall, Luxford Burgers, has moved to the Courtyard from Pleasance Dome but its classic dishes — including beef, chicken and veggie burgers made from local ingredients — are still going strong. Mint will make your tastebuds dance with its renowned Chicken and Halloumi Wrap, as well as plenty of meat-eater and vegan options, and Pizza Geeks, who “set out on a quest to find the one pizza that rules them all”, will serve-up freshly made Neapolitan-inspired pizza with a slice of geek.
Drinks
A broad selection of drinks is available across the venues, with Molson Coors products featuring in all locations — Madri, Coors, Prahva, Staropramen and Blue Moon to name a few. In addition, you will find Guinness, Rekorderlig Ciders, Johnnie Walker, Gordon’s Gin, Fever-Tree soft drinks and much more. Our draught and canned cocktails will ensure you can quickly get served, and we also offer drinks while you wait in your queue for the show, so refreshments are never far away!
