Located within No.33 Charlotte Square, Kimpton’s boutique presents ishga, Sassenach Spirits, and Siobhan Mackenzie for an intimate and experiential retail shopping experience unlike anywhere else in the capital.

To coincide with the start of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, the boutique pop-up will open its doors from 9-11 August, where both the public and Kimpton hotel guests alike will be welcomed to shop and explore three unique and highly regarded brands. As the world’s largest multi-cultural festival unfurls throughout the city, Kimpton will help celebrate some of Scotland’s best home-grown, luxury products.

Bringing together three artisanal Scottish brands that each celebrate wellness, locality and creativity, the boutique pop-up has something for everyone. From the wild shores of the Hebrides, ishga skincare, for the fashion forward, Siobhan Mackenzie a designer reimagining classic Scottish design for the modern day and who in recent weeks has dressed Shania Twain and Jared Leto, and for the Outlander and whisky fans, Sassenach Spirits, a luxury Gin and Whisky created by Outlanders very own, Sam Heughan.

The boutique will take over No.33 at Charlotte Square, one of the historic townhouse buildings which combine to make Kimpton Charlotte Square Hotel. A hotel within a hotel, this space has its very own door onto Charlotte Square, drawing room and lounge, which will be home to the retailers unique offering.

Discover results driven organic skincare from the Isle of Lewis by shopping the award-winning ishga range and speak to their expert team to find the ultimate products to transform your skin. Shop luxury womenswear created and designed by Siobhan Mackenzie including kilts and corsets exclusively made in Scotland, with many being one-off pieces. Bespoke designs for menswear and womenswear can also be ordered, with sample books and measuring on-site. Sample and shop Outlanders, Sam Heughans’ award-winning premium blend Scotch Whisky and Wild Scottish Gin, inspired by the untamed essence of the Highlands. In fact, this event starts the beginning of a partnership with Kimpton Hotels in Scotland and Sassenach Spirits. Kimpton Charlotte in Square in Edinburgh and Kimpton Blythswood Square in Glasgow will be the first hotels to officially stock the gin and whisky from the Outlander star.

Kieran Quinn, general manager at Kimpton Charlotte Square said: “There are so many exceptional local businesses in Scotland and at Kimpton we are dedicated to partnering with the best of the best. We like to create experiences for our guests to unearth the unexpected within our hotel and we really feel this is the case with the boutique pop-up.

“For us, connecting and collaborating is the essence of Kimpton, and we can’t wait to bring these three businesses together at No.33, and to introduce our guests to the brands. The boutique feels like a fantastic opportunity for us to give three brilliant Scottish crafts makers and retailers a platform for their artisan products, that offers something for everyone, from hand harvested and organic skincare from ishga in the North West of Scotland, to premium blended whisky from Sassenach, and innovative, conscious and creative fashions from one of Scotland’s most talented designers, Siobhan Mackenzie.”

Leon Trayling, Director at ishga commented: “ishga has been a spa partner of Kimpton Charlotte Square for many years now, and we are excited to get involved in the boutique in such a beautiful setting. We look forward to sharing our results driven organic skincare with visitors, allowing people to discover products to help their skin look its best, naturally.”

Siobhan Mackenzie said: “I’m thrilled to partner with Kimpton for an exciting premium shopping experience in Edinburgh. As a loyal customer of Kimpton, the Charlotte Square hotel feels like a natural fit for my brand to work with – we share a brand synergy with a contemporary and luxury offering to our clientele.”

Sam Heughan, founder of Sassenach Spirits commented: “I am honoured and excited to be able to kick off our collaboration with Kimpton Hotels through such a unique and innovative pop-up boutique experience in Edinburgh, the city I grew up in. My vision for Sassenach Spirits was always to share my love and passion for my homeland – to have the opportunity to showcase our multi award winning brand, at this amazing venue with other quality Scottish brands that share the same unique artistry, is truly special.”
