A colossal team up of titans returns this April with Godzilla and King Kong buddying up once again to take on a new gigantic foe in Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire on 29 March.
The epic battle between cinema’s big beasties continues as the titanic twosome take on a new, previously undiscovered hidden threat which could endanger the entire world. From returning director Adam Wingard, Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire promises plenty of powerful punch, providing a big screen spectacle of gargantuan proportions.
For film fans who love their action stylish, slick, and satisfying, the directorial debut of British acting fave Dev Patel is set to pack plenty of explosive extravagance with Monkey Man, at Vue from 5 April. Starring the aforementioned Patel, Monkey Man follows one man on his vengeful quest to take on the villains who took everything from him. Fans of the John Wick films will find plenty of fascinating fights and edge-of-your-seat action when Monkey Man takes on the underworld this month.
There’s plenty of thrills and chills to be had this Easter at Vue. The Immaculate, following Sydney Sweeney as a nun who discovers something strange is going on at her new convent is out now, while prequel to iconic horror franchise The First Omen is out 5 April and Mother’s Instinct, which sees Academy Award winners Jessica Chastain and Anne Hathaway team up in an unnerving psychological thriller, will be arriving 29 March.
For those looking to enjoy something a little more theatrical this April, The Royal Opera’s 2023 / 2024 production of Madama Butterfly will be sweeping onto the big screen on 31 March. Enjoy Puccini’s devastating tragedy about a young geisha who falls in love with an American Naval Officer all from the comfort of Vue’s luxury leather seating, providing the very best seat in the house for this awe-inspiring production.
Some of Hollywood’s most iconic action heroes are also heading to Vue just in time for the Easter holidays. Indy is back with Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny returning for a special screening on 31 March for those looking to catch the famed treasure hunter’s latest adventure once again on the big screen.
Ahead of the release of Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga later this year, Vue is also welcoming film fans back to the wastelands of George Miller’s post-apocalyptic saga with the entire Mad Max series screening throughout April. From the 1979’s Mad Max on 8 April to the award-winning action of Tom Hardy starring Mad Max: Fury Road on 26 April, expect plenty of car carnage and wacky wilderness as this fantastic sci-fi franchise explodes into Vue venues this month.
Vue has also that it will release the Italian box office sensation THERE’S STILL TOMORROW (C’È ANCORA DOMANI) which will be launched across Vue’s UK and Ireland cinemas from 26 April, with tickets now on sale.
The comedy-drama, which is lead actor Paola Cortellesi’s directorial debut, has broken Italian records becoming the most watched 2023 release, performing better than Barbie or Oppenheimer by box office. It also sold out a record number of screenings at its recent UK preview at Cinema Made in Italy festival in London. The film is now the third-largest Italian film in the last 10 years and one of Italy’s top 10 highest grossing films of all time, not to mention the largest Italian film directed by a woman, in history.
Set in Rome in 1946 on the eve of women gaining the right to vote, the film plays out against a backdrop of poverty, domestic violence and toxic masculinity, centring around one woman’s determination to break the cycle of abuse. A contemporary take on classic neorealism, the film counters its tough themes with unexpected comic moments and an optimistic outlook around female empowerment. It features a modern soundtrack including music by the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion.
Toby Bradon, General Manager at Vue UK & Ireland, said: ‘Alongside the content during the Easter break that’s perfect for families, we’ve also got plenty of releases to suit all ages who want to get lost in fantastic stories on the big screen this April.
‘With film screenings from just £4.99 online at selected venues, the big screen experience at Vue is the perfect treat during the Easter holidays and beyond.’
