Edinburgh’s Woven Whisky Makers, who earlier this month joined Drink’s International's 2023 list of the World’s Most Admired Whiskies, is due to pop up for a limited time only in the Capital’s most coveted shopping destination, St James Quarter from November 29th until December 2nd.
Complete with a complimentary gift-wrap service along with feature events and expert staff on hand to help customers find the right whisky for themselves, or to gift someone else this festive season, 1,000 customers will also enjoy a dram on the house.
The Leith based, independent whisky blenders were the lucky winners of the Small Business Pop-Up Competition with Sage, awarding them prime space in the iconic St James Quarter on the lead up to Christmas. Woven’s pop-up blend studio is the brand’s first consumer retail activation and will feature a selection of their blended whiskies for sale, including the latest launch in their core collection, ‘Hemispheres’.
Hemispheres blends whiskies from two of the world’s furthest destinations; a Manuka smoked whisky from New Zealand married with a single grain from Edinburgh. A remarkable combination that gives an original take on the idea of smoky tasting whisky by taking a borderless approach to blending.
“This is an oily, smoky and herbal world whisky blend with notes of orange, clove and honey”, comments Woven Co-Founder, Pete Allison.
These flavours make Hemispheres ideal for the festive season, as a present or to enjoy fireside. On Friday 1st from 6pm-8pm, Woven will also host their popular ‘open studio’ from the pop up where they invite whisky friends and fans to enjoy good times and drams together in good company. If you are interested in attending, be sure to sign up to the Woven mailing list for details.
Allison adds, “We’re really excited for the chance to connect with customers old and new through this pop up. It’s a brilliant opportunity to be city centre and share what we’re most passionate about from a major destination like St James Quarter.”
Hemispheres is available to pre-order online now at wovenwhisky.com or to purchase at their pop-up (RRP £50). Open from Wednesday 29th of November to December 2nd 2023, 9am-8pm daily, find Woven at Unit 12, 111 St James Square, St James Crescent, Edinburgh EH1 3AD.
