A DELICIOUS ARRANGEMENT: ELEVATING THE FLEURS DE VILLES VOYAGE EXPERIENCE
Edinburgh Gin 1670 ‘Filled with Wonder’ Room Moët & Chandon Impérial Champagne Bar * Glenmorangie Whisky Bar
Botanical Workshops * Floral Talks * Demonstrations * Sensory Scent Experiences * Paint & Sip
The countdown is on to Edinburgh hosting the UK premiere of Fleurs de Villes VOYAGE; a major new travel-themed floral exhibition celebrating fifteen of the world’s most iconic destinations.
Opening to the public this Friday the 15th of September and running for ten days until Sunday the 24th of September, 2023, VOYAGE will be staged at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh; one of the finest botanical gardens in the world.
The globe-spanning spectacle will see talented Edinburgh florists bring the exhibition’s theme of travel to life through dramatic floral mannequins, each one representing a country. In this never-before-seen showcase, each florist has been partnered with a country and will celebrate its culture, people and heritage to stunning effect. Using beautiful fresh flowers, the VOYAGE mannequins, presented inside a luxury marquee, will also take inspiration from the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh’s awe-inspiring botanical collections.
Now, with the launch approaching, organisers have today revealed further exciting attractions set to elevate the Fleurs de Villes VOYAGE experience. Bringing serious levels of floriculture stardust, acclaimed Scottish florist Ruby Flowers; whose magical creations have added drama and distinction to countless film and television productions, will transform areas within the main Inverleith House. Visitors will be invited to ‘voyage’ through safari and Paris-inspired rooms bursting with blooms, and marvel at Ruby’s creations.
Also announced today, is a programme of workshops enhancing the Fleurs de Villes offering. Appearing in conversation, Sara Sheridan, award-winning author of The Fair Botanists, will immerse visitors in her thrilling world of flora and fiction, whilst flower lovers, supported by an experienced instructor, can Paint n Sip as they create their own floral masterpiece inspired by Van Gogh’s Sunflowers. Exploring and improving visitors’ sense of smell, Kingdom of Scotland; Scotland’s first fragrance house, will present a botanical scent experience, whilst workshops with top local florists will show how to create floral head crowns, tablescapes and bouquets.
Workshops can be purchased as an ‘add-on’ experience when booking VOYAGE exhibition tickets at fleursdevilles.com/Edinburgh.
Delicious heights will be reached at the Fleurs de Villes VOYAGE UK premiere in Edinburgh with an arrangement of elevated food and drink experiences. Inspired by the wonder of one of the oldest botanical gardens which hosts over 14,000 botanicals, Edinburgh Gin 1670 is a limited-edition gin created by their Head Distiller and Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh Chief Botanist, showcasing the history of the Garden. Promising an unmissable attraction within the main house will be the Edinburgh Gin ‘Filled with Wonder’ room – reimagined by florist Boyes Botanicals – where visitors can enjoy a variety of gin cocktails. Visitors will also have the opportunity to join Edinburgh Gin’s Brand Ambassador, Philip Kingscott, on a botanical exploration workshop, as well as discover ‘The Spirit of Edinburgh’ through a gin tasting: early booking is recommended following a sell-out run at The Fringe!
Inviting visitors to celebrate the VOYAGE experience and a shared moment of togetherness, a Moët & Chandon Impérial bar will present a sparkling touchpoint, while the wondrous and delicious world of Glenmorangie can be enjoyed at a striking whisky bar. Both of these bars will be located within the Fleurs de Villes marquee, at the heart of the Edinburgh Garden.
Further food and drink offerings available for visitors include Afternoon Tea with delicious finger sandwiches, cakes and tea, scrumptious picnic box hampers, and artisan breakfast which can be enjoyed on the terrace with views across Inverleith House Lawn.
