Scottish eyewear brand IOLLA have enlisted the help of local illustrator Katie Smith for a live Christmas window illustration activation.
Illustrating live at IOLLA’s St James Quarter showroom from today, Wednesday 24th November until Thursday 25th November, customers will have the opportunity to experience the freehand magic in real time and watch the seasonal scene come to life over the course of two days. Spreading Christmas cheer during the showroom opening hours of 9am – 8pm.
Katie Smith is a local artist, Glasgow School of Art student and has been a loyal IOLLA customer since 2018. IOLLA have worked with Katie on other creative projects over the years and so it only felt natural to commission her for their 2021 Festive campaign. Katie's unique illustration style, along with her brand knowledge meant she was able to fulfil the Christmas brief with flair. Coming up with a design that communicates IOLLA’s fun, spectacular designs and personality with a festive twist.
Drawing inspiration from IOLLA’s creative approach to eyewear, Katie’s joyful window display will celebrate the season and encapsulate the playful customer experience at IOLLA.
Illustrator Katie Smith said: “As I am still practicing design it is surreal to see my work out there. With IOLLA being a local company and already being a customer, it feels so endearing as a project because I’m working with a brand I genuinely really like. The brief was great and the IOLLA team have been so open to all of my ideas - that's why it worked so well! I can’t wait for everyone to see it unfold live!”
Kirsty Humpherson, Marketing Manager at IOLLA said: ‘We’re absolutely thrilled to collaborate with Katie again, who is not only an amazing artist, but a loyal IOLLA customer. We are so excited to see the storefront come to life, and we can’t wait to see the end result. We know everyone is going to love it!”
IOLLA launched in 2015, introducing a better way to buy eyewear with their offering of complete prescription glasses and sunglasses for £75. Their mission is to help people look and feel great, empowering glasses wearers to build an eyewear wardrobe thanks to their diverse range of unique frame designs and affordable price point. Making them the perfect gift this Christmas.
The festive window illustration kicks off IOLLA’s festive campaign with more fun surprises still to come. For more information and to keep up to date with all things IOLLA check out their website: www.iolla.com
