Bringing an evening of star-studded entertainment to you on Wednesday 22nd April, ‘For the Love of Scotland’ is set to be an incredible night as it raises money in aid of Masks for Scotland. With an impressive line-up already announced, Scottish stars Fran Healy (Travis), Karen Gillan and Simon Neil (Biffy Clyro) will also join presenter Edith Bowman as she brings viewers a night of heart-warming content in a bid to reach the £200,000 target for the crowdfunding initiative Masks for Scotland. Edith will chat to some of Scotland’s biggest names in film, music, literature and the arts, as well as sharing stories from the public about the community spirit being seen across the country during this difficult time. Set to be a night to remember, ‘For the Love of Scotland’ will bring together an evening of entertainment and appreciation as Bowman and her guests give thanks to medical staff across Scotland.

Fran Healy from the much-loved Scottish band Travis will join the outstanding bill of Scottish musicians already lined up for Wednesday night’s show, as well as Simon Neil from the rock trio Biffy Clyro, who will be performing live on the night. Plus, actress and filmmaker Karen Gillan is a fantastic new addition to the charity livestream that viewers can enjoy from the comfort of their own home.
The Masks for Scotland crowdfunding initiative was founded by Professor Jill Belch of the University of Dundee, in response to the urgent need for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for community frontline medical teams across Scotland. 100% of the money raised will fund the provision of PPE for key workers across the country, and with Masks for Scotland already raising over £80,000 in just over a week, the first orders of PPE are set to arrive in Scotland this week.
Tune into an evening with all the biggest stars in Scotland on Wednesday 22nd April from 6pm – 9pm on Gigs In Scotland’s social channels. Viewers can watch the livestream on Gigs In Scotland Facebook or YouTube, where they can expect musical performances from the iconic Annie Lennox, who will be performing a special rendition of a traditional Scottish song. Plus, performances from Fran Healy (Travis), KT Tunstall, Rachel Sermanni, Sam McTrusty (Twin Atlantic), Simon Neil (Biffy Clyro) and Stuart Murdoch (Belle and Sebastian), alongside chats with some of Scotland’s biggest sporting stars Ally McCoist, Sir Chris Hoy and Judy Murray. Viewers will also be in store for a preview of author Ian Rankin’s unreleased book as he treats them to an excerpt from his new novel, as well as a bedtime story from Peter Mullan. Actor Alan Cumming is joining in on the fundraising livestream and is set to keep viewers highly entertained with a singalong to a song he has written to keep everyone’s spirits high during lockdown!
