Festive fun for a good cause at Edinburgh care home
On Saturday 7th December, from 2pm-4pm, the Care UK team at Cairdean House, on Redford Road, will open the home’s doors for a Christmas celebration in aid of the Bethany Christian Trust.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at an Edinburgh care home, as the local community is invited to celebrate the festive season at a special fundraising event.
On Saturday 7th December, from 2pm-4pm, the Care UK team at Cairdean House, on Redford Road, will open the home’s doors for a Christmas celebration in aid of the Bethany Christian Trust, which aims to end homelessness in Scotland.
On the day, there will be a host of festive activities and games, as well as a tombola, a raffle and a bake sale. Guests will also be treated to delicious mince pies and mulled wine, specially prepared by the Cairdean House team. To top off the day, Santa will also make a special appearance.
Guests are invited to donate old hats, scarfs and gloves to the home’s chosen charity, as well as funds towards the ‘Buy a Bed’ campaign, which sponsors beds at the Winter Care Shelter.
Gillian Goodall, home manager at Cairdean House, said: “Christmas has officially arrived here at Cairdean House and we’re thrilled to be able to bring everyone together for an afternoon of festive fun for charity.
“We are proud to be supporting the Bethany Christian Trust this December. The work the organisation does within the community is absolutely vital, so we want to help in any way we can. Our Christmas event is also a great way to say thank you to the community for their support over the last year, and spread some festive cheer as part of a worthy cause.
“We are all looking forward to decorating the home and we hope the people of Edinburgh will join us for an afternoon of festive celebrations!”
Cairdean House has been designed to deliver the very best standards of care and to enable residents to live active and fulfilled lives. The home provides full-time residential, nursing and specialist dementia care, as well as short-term respite.
