ARCHIE MADDOCKS - MATCHSTICK

Just The Tonic at The Mash House (Just The Snifter Room)
Thursday 2nd – Sunday 26th August (not 13th), 1.55pm
First Review Date: Saturday 4th August

Award-winning Archie Maddocks presents Matchstick - an hour of biting, provocative, unflinchingly funny comedy where he explores his deepest and darkest thoughts, exposes his flaws and interrogates his personal connection to Grenfell Tower. Fresh from a stint in the BBC Writersroom, this “super cool, super smart storyteller" (Bruce Dessau, Beyond The Joke and Evening Standard) hilariously explores life, love and loss with a candid authenticity making him one to see this Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

As heard on BBC Radio 4’s New Comedy Award and BBC Radio 4 Extra’s Comedy Club, Archie’s natural stage presence, quick wit and confident, cheerful, provocative and, most importantly hilarious stand-up comedy has made him one of the most in demand comics on the British and international comedy circuit.

Matchstick is Archie’s third Edinburgh show, following his debut Shirts Vs Skins in 2016, which received rave reviews and toured South Africa in 2017. Last year’s IlluminArchie received critical acclaim from critics and audiences and was followed by a transfer to the prestigious Soho Theatre in London and London’s VAULT Festival in early 2018.

CHRIS HENRY - AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 DATES

Underbelly – Bristo Square (Medical School),
Wednesday 1st – Monday 27th August (not 15th), 8.10pm
First Review Date: Wednesday 1st August

Scottish Comedian of the Year finalist Chris Henry returns to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe to take you on a whirlwind global gigglefest as he attempts to find The One in Around The World In 80 Dates.
After sold-out, award-nominated performances around the world, this 40-year-old bachelor delivers the ultimate anti rom-com by hilariously dissecting our favourite clichés with razor sharp stand up, replacing them with 80 dates he hopes will take him from reformed playboy to the perfect husband. Prepare for a blind date like no other.
Chris’ refreshingly unpretentious, honest comedy (with a little nonsense thrown in) has catapulted him to being an incredibly in-demand stand up, performing at home in Scotland and across the UK, as well as touring internationally. Before his arrival at the 2018 Fringe, Chris will have performed in over 15 countries as far afield as America, Australia, Singapore and Cambodia.

CHRIS HENRY - BALLOONATICS

Underbelly – Cowgate
2nd–14th August, 18th-19th August & 25th-26th August, 11.40am
First Review Date: Thursday 2nd August

The 2017 'Must See Family Show of the Edinburgh Fringe'(The Scotsman) and Fringe World Children’s Event Award runner-up Balloonatics returns to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2018 following it’s huge success last year!

Balloonatatics is the award-nominated world-traveled family friendly comedy show for anyone crazy about balloons! Scottish comedian Chris Henry guarantees a chaos-filled, fun-packed hour of inflatable buffoonery, with never a dull moment for a parent or child. Join the Balloonatics army, where it doesn’t matter how technically gifted you are, as long as you are having fun!

RUSS PEERS - HEREDITARY PEERS

Just The Tonic at The Grassmarket Centre (The Meeting Room)
Thursday 2nd – Sunday 26th August (not 13th), 7.10pm
First Review Date: Saturday 4th August

BBC New Comedy Award finalist and UK comedy circuit favourite Russ Peers is bringing his hilarious debut hour show ‘Hereditary Peers’ to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2018! Don’t miss this brand new show at Just The Tonic’s The Grassmarket Centre (The Meeting Room) from Thursday 2nd – Sunday 26th August (not 13th) at 7.10pm!

Living in London and attending swanky dinner parties, a lot has changed for Russ since his days working at a supermarket checkout in Cumbria…his life may seem very different to his parents' but is it? Does his impatience and need to switch off lights come from his Dad? Does his need to please come from his Mum? And why drag up as Madonna? Does he fight this or give in to being Hereditary Peers?
With his laid-back Northern charm and his marvellous anecdotal style, Russ has audiences rolling in the aisles as he takes aim at all aspect of his life and regales with stories from his journey from Northern pathos to Southern sophistication.

SEANN WALSH - AFTER THIS ONE, I’M GOING HOME

The Pleasance Courtyard (Beyond), Tuesday 14th – Saturday 25th August, 9.20pm
First Review Date: TBC

Fresh from making his debut US TV appearance on Conan, Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee and self-proclaimed ‘Lie-in King’ Seann Walsh returns to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2018 with his brand new show After This One, I’m Going Home.

“Unquestionably the best observational comic of his generation” (The Guardian), this dishevelled, fiery, animated, fiercely idle, millennial man-child is currently one of the UK's finest live comedians.

Following sold out shows in 2013, 2014 and 2016 Seann Walsh brings ‘After This One, I’m Going Home’ to the Pleasance Courtyard (Beyond) for a limited 12-night run from Tuesday 14th – Saturday 25th August at 9.20pm. Tickets are on sale from Thursday 17th May.

STEPHEN BAILEY - OUR KID

Maggie’s Front Room at The Free Sisters – Laughing Horse Free Festival
Thursday 2nd – Sunday 26th August, 5.15pm
First Review Date: Saturday 4th August

Everyone’s favourite ‘guilty pleasure’ (Daily Record), stand-up comedy star, Stephen Bailey returns to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2018 with his brand new show ‘Our Kid’ – a story full of Northern warmth, some working-class guilt and a bit of blue.
2018 has been an exciting year for Stephen. The past six months have seen him embark on his first critically acclaimed UK tour, perform three nights at the prestigious Soho Theatre in London plus support Katherine Ryan on her recent sold-out UK tour. His friendly brand of gossipy humour has made him one of the UK’s most exciting up-and-coming acts in comedy at the moment.
His recent and varied TV work includes him becoming the resident agony uncle on ITV1s 'Zoe Ball on Sunday' and appearances on Five's ‘Celebrity Big Brother’s Bit on the Side’ and Comedy Central’s ‘Live at The Comedy Store’ adding to his extensive back catalogue of TV and radio work.
