Taking up hosting duties this year is one of the UK’s biggest and brightest comedians Rob Beckett alongside award-winning, hyper energetic comedian Russell Kane.
Multi-award winning comedian, presenter, actor, author and scriptwriter Russell Kane is best known as the star of BBC3’s Stupid Man, Smart Phone and host of three series of BBC3‘s Live At The Electric, with appearances on BBC’s Live At The Apollo, BBC1’s Children In Need, Question Time and Red Nose Day, BBC3’s Unzipped, ITV2’s Celebrity Juice and I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here! Now! Russell's weekly topical Facebook 'Kaneing' videos have grown from strength-to-strength, garnering hundreds of thousands of weekly views and constant media attention, and have propelled him to become the most watched UK comedian on Facebook. The Kaneing Live, Russell’s innovative magazine style discussion show based on his Facebook videos, was broadcast on Facebook Live in May. The first event of it’s kind; the show gained a staggering 750,000 views in the 24 hours after broadcast and extraordinary levels of audience engagement.
Rob Beckett’s cheeky chappy persona has seen him win fans across the country as well as become a regular on the small screen. Best known as team captain on Channel 4’s 8 Out Of 10 Cats, Rob’s other recent TV appearances include ITV1’s star–studded Royal Variety Performance, E4’s Celebs Go Dating, BBC1’s Michael McIntyre’s Big Show, Would I Lie To You? and Room 101, BBC2’s Mock The Week, Channel 4’s 8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown and ITV1’s Play To The Whistle. Rob currently hosts Rock n Roll Football on Absolute Radio, as well as Dave’s hugely popular podcast The Magic Sponge.

2017 marks a the tenth year of partnership between Off The Kerb Productions and Waverley Care, Scotland’s biggest charity providing care and support to those living with HIV and Hepatitis C. All proceeds raised from the Edinburgh Comedy Gala go straight to supporting the life changing work of the charity. Since it’s launch in 2003, the now annual event has raised almost £450,000, with this year’s event looking set to topple the £500,000 mark, helping to make a positive difference to the lives of people affected by HIV and Hepatitis C in Scotland.

Showcasing some of the finest comedic talent at this year’s Fringe, this year’s Edinburgh Comedy Gala is set to be the must-see event for all comedy fans at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
