He is one of Scotland’s most capped rugby internationalists and captained the national side a record 39 times, but now Greig Laidlaw will be swapping his studs for a microphone after the rugby star announced two exclusive talk events during the upcoming Six Nations campaign.
Taking place at the acclaimed Scottish marketplace Bonnie & Wild, Greig’s talks will see the former Scotland captain sharing insights from his distinguished career, followed by a Q&A with guests who will be invited to quiz Greig on the current Six Nations campaign, as well as Scotland’s hopes in the 2027 Rugby World Cup.
It will be the first chance for many guests to meet and chat to Greig Laidlaw, who recently returned to Scotland from Japan, where he coached the country’s Urayasu D-Rocks team.
Greig, a regular TV commentator and who has now started coaching Scotland’s U20 team, said: “It’s been a whirlwind few months as I’ve made the big step back to Scotland to take on the important role of coaching the country’s next generation of rugby talent. With this latest move, it’s given me much to reflect upon and I’m excited to be sharing stories from my career in these Six Nations talks taking place at Bonnie & Wild. I'm also looking forward to hosting a Q&A towards the end of the evening where we'll open the floor up for guests to ask their own questions.
“The first talk follows Scotland’s crunch match against England so I expect that’ll provoke a lively discussion, while the second one on March 12 will give us much more of an overview of the campaign as a whole, particularly as we look, ever hopeful, to the 2027 Rugby World Cup.”.
With only a limited number of tickets available, fans are being urged to secure their place at the Laidlaw talks sooner rather than later.
Ryan Barrie, Bonnie & Wild's Managing Director, said: “Greig’s an absolute icon of Scottish rugby and we’re over the moon to be hosting not one but two exclusive events with Greig during the Six Nations campaign. Within the beautiful setting of Bonnie & Wild, rugby fans will get the chance to meet one of Scotland’s greatest rugby players, be given insights into his career as the top end of Scottish rugby, and hear his thoughts on the team’s future.”
The talks, which are being held in partnership with The Famous Grouse, take place at Bonnie & Wild in Edinburgh city centre on February 19 and March 12, priced £40 + bf.
