Flight Club is turning 10 in October and taking the celebrations on a UK-wide birthday tour, with a month of parties in each city it calls home!
And the Flight Club crew aren’t hitting the road in any old party bus…they’ll be setting off in style, in a thirty-year-old fire engine that has special significance to the origins of the OG of activity bars. More on that backstory in a bit. But first, the all-important party details...
The party’s rolling into Edinburgh from 6pm on 14th October, and everyone is invited! Just pop into Flight Club Edinburgh in St James' Quarter on the night – no need to book – and be treated to live DJs, epic prizes (including a £1,000 bar tab!), and plenty of surprises.
Or, if you want to go all out and get the VIP party treatment, rally your friends together for a birthday showdown - £50 per person gets you a round of welcome drinks to whet the appetite, unlimited pizza all night and three hours of non-stop gaming led by Flight Club’s gamesmasters.
The added bonus of all this merriment is that every city’s celebration throughout the month will support the Flight Club charitable foundation, backing 21 incredible national and local charities, including Edinburgh's Cyrenians, a charity dedicated to supporting the homeless.
Swing by on 14th October from 6pm or book a VIP birthday tournament spot here: https://www.designmynight.com/edinburgh/bars/city-centre/flight-club-darts-edinburgh/charity-tournament?t=tickets
Why the fire engine?
The Flight Club team is no stranger to mammoth fundraising projects. In fact, a 2010 fundraising expedition around the globe in a fire engine (hence the fire engine connection) is where it all began for Flight Club.
Co-founders Steve and Paul, CFO Ross and a crew of friends circumnavigated the planet in a fire engine in memory of Steve's father, who spent 33 years serving as a firefighter. They raised £120,000 for three charities (Macmillan Cancer Support, The Fire Fighters Charity and The Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation) and achieved a Guinness World Record.
The expedition taught Steve and the crew the skills they needed to launch a business and, more importantly, underlined their passion for bringing groups of friends together for unforgettable moments of joy. Five years later, Flight Club was born, with the first venue opening in London’s Shoreditch. Fast-forward ten years, and there are now 28 venues around the globe, with plenty more on the way.
Fifteen years after Steve and the gang headed off on an incredible adventure around the world, “Martha,” the original fire engine, is coming out of retirement, especially for this special 10th birthday tour.
