Think French is all about grammar drills and endless vocab lists? Think again! 🎉In this free 2.5-hour workshop, you’ll discover how a bande dessinée (French comic books) can make learning French fun, visual, and interactive.

Together we will:

Decode a French comic book in 7 simple steps – no previous knowledge needed!
Explore French classics like Tintin, Astérix, and modern favourites.
Uncover comic structures and how pictures + words make meaning.
Practice French interactively through games, discussions, and hands-on activities.

About me:
Hi! I’m Jahnavi, a passionate and experienced French teacher and comic book enthusiast based in Edinburgh. I’ve spent years helping learners of all levels discover the joy of French through stories, visuals, and hands-on activities. My approach combines fun, culture, and practical language skills so that you leave each session confident, inspired, and ready to read French comics on your own.

Where: Inlet Leith, 99 Ferry Road, Edinburgh EH6 4ET.
When: You can book any one of the following dates

Tuesday, 30th September from 6:00 to 8:30 pm
Saturday, 4th October from 11:00am to 1:30 pm
Tuesday, 7th October from 6:00 to 8:30 pm
Saturday, 11th October from 11:00am to 1:30 pm
Tuesday, 14th October from 6:00 to 8:30 pm
Cost: Free (but spots are limited!)

Only 6 participants per event to ensure that everyone gets a chance to participate and express themselves !
