Step into Edinburgh’s folklore
Step beneath the Royal Mile and enter a world where history and legend intertwine. On this new atmospheric tour, discover the myths and stories that have shaped Scotland for centuries.
From the reign of King James VI and whispers of witchcraft to the eerie glow of the Will-o’-the-Wisp, explore how fear and folklore once guided everyday life in Edinburgh. Hear tales of the Glaistig, half-woman and half-goat, said to guard cattle and mislead travellers. Listen for ghostly pipers lost beneath the city, headless drummers warning of danger, and uncover the mystery of the tiny coffins found on Arthur’s Seat.
As darkness falls, you’ll journey through the Close’s underground streets, meeting legends of goddesses, fairies, and restless spirits that blurred the line between truth and belief. Both haunting and enchanting, these tales reveal the imagination and fears of the people who once called this place home.
