Raindrops of Rani is a powerful multimedia exploration of fractured identity, displacement, and cultural synthesis, drawing on South Asian folklore, particularly the folk tragedy Heer Ranjha. Through film, textile screenprints, and sculpture, Scottish-Pakistani artist Aqsa Arif reflects on her family’s journey as asylum seekers and the complexities of dual heritage. Set against the backdrop of her childhood council flat in Glasgow, featured in the 2006 Sony Bravia Paint advert, this exhibition weaves together themes of migration, resilience, and cultural dissonance.
