INTO THE WILD
An exhibition hosted by Edinburgh-based artists Dani Cleeland, Dee Raspin, & Jim McGregor.
Featuring work from three Edinburgh-based artists 'Into the Wild' explores the natural, mystical and dark aspects of the world around us. Dani, Dee and Jim use different mediums to portray the theme in unique ways.
Dani's work explores the relationships animals have with their natural environment and adds commentary on the subtle and not so subtle ways in which some wildlife has adapted to live alongside humans.
Dee's work imagines creatures tasked with curating natural spaces and keeping their inhabitants healthy and happy. Each piece is made using fibre felting techniques and natural materials.
Jim is an illustrator based in the vibrant Leith area, who is influenced by the darker, more feral parts of nature. Working largely in black ink, he attempts to capture the hidden scenes beyond the trees and beneath the soil, imagining creatures and plants from an impossible world.
The exhibition runs from Wednesday 9th July until Sunday 27th July at Leith Makers. There will be a preview evening from 6-8pm on Friday 11th July which is open to all.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
