Wednesday 11 June – 16 July
In the first four weeks, you'll receive an introduction to MIG welding theory and practice, using cutting and joining techniques to construct the steel frame of your stool.
During the final two weeks, you’ll shift to woodworking - cutting, planing, and shaping a wooden seat to complete your project.
Guided by experienced makers Gavin (Models and Props) and James (Birbeck’s Woodwork), you’ll gain confidence using a range of metal and wood tools, machines, and techniques, and explore the design possibilities of mixing materials.
This course is ideal for beginners or anyone keen to try their hand at furniture making in a friendly, supportive setting.
What’s included:
Expert instruction in MIG welding and woodworking
Use of tools and workshop facilities
All materials to complete your stool
