Join us for a unique and immersive experience in Edinburgh this August! We’re excited to present Flower, Flour; a combined floristry and food workshop to stir all your senses this summer.
We’ve partnered up with our pals at Fat Pumpkin Farm to bring you a workshop that combines beautiful flowers with beautiful (and delicious!) food. This is flowers and food done the slow way; celebrating seasonality, nature and collaboration with likeminded folks who know how to appreciate the good things.
The day will begin with a floristry demonstration by Ochre Botanical Studios, showcasing the beauty of locally grown summer flowers and other edible garden-grown treats and how to arrange them. We’ll guide you through how to create arrangements in our natural, gardeny style using foam-free mechanics and help you find your own way with seasonal, garden-grown flowers.
Following this, you’ll have the opportunity to create your own stunning floral arrangement to take home in a one-of-a-kind vessel made by local ceramicist Blanc Ceramics, using a variety of beautiful, seasonal blooms. We’ll have time on hand for you to photograph your arrangements in the surroundings of Custom Lane’s newly upgraded event space.
Next, Sophie from Fat Pumpkin Farm will guide you through a delightful pasta-making demonstration, sharing the secrets of making fresh mushroom and sourdough agnolotti from scratch. You’ll witness the process of how to make this delicious filled pasta and learn valuable culinary tips about using seasonal produce and high quality ingredients.
Finally, we’ll gather for a shared lunch to enjoy the delicious pasta prepared by Sophie, presented on bespoke tableware created by Borja Moronta, surrounded by the beautiful flower arrangements you created during the workshop. Dessert will be provided by Lannan Bakery. It’s an immersive dining experience that celebrates the best of summer’s edible, visual and olfactory bounty; sharing food, celebrating nature and harnessing your creativity.
This workshop will run from 11am to 4pm on Sunday 3rd August at Custom Lane in the heart of Edinburgh. We look forward to sharing this special day with you!
Please be aware that, unfortunately, we will be unable to accommodate individuals with wheat or gluten intolerances or vegans for this workshop, as the pasta dough contains both egg and gluten.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
