About CEIBO screening Edinburgh

Edinburgh Premiere of Ceibo and Q&A with Maddie Meddings and Lucy Small

Join us for the Edinburgh premiere of Ceibo which follows surfers Pacha Light and Lucy Small as they journey across Ecuador to learn how we can better coexist with our planet.

What is the cost of our consumption? It’s replacing the precious marine life in our oceans with plastic, poisoning our rivers and destroying communities as our demand for new technology escalates and our dependence on fossil fuels continues to expand. What can we learn from women in Ecuador where they are deeply connected to their landscapes and communities and where these impacts are felt first?

From the land rights struggles of the Andes and the Amazon, to an Olympic surfer who has carved out a path for women, to the fight to protect the waters of the Galapagos Islands, Ceibo explores some of the most important struggles of our time. Along the way, Pacha untangles her own evolving identity as she reconnects with her Ecuadorian roots and embraces what it means to be Ecuadorian.

£1 from each ticket will be donated to our impact partnerswho are doing critical work in the regions of Ecuador where the film is made. We also encourage you to buy a raffle ticket for additional support for these organisations. Tickets will be available to purchase online before the event and on the night.
Drinks and refreshments available on the night!

Event schedule:
7:00pm - We will be in the shop so please come and say hey!
7:30pm - Film starts
8:45pm - Panel discussion and Q&A with Maddie and Lucy.
