Growing from seed is incredibly rewarding and there’s hardly room here to list all the benefits - from saving you money and reducing plastic use, to reclaiming community ownership of the food system! It just takes a bit of know-how, and the Lauriston Farm growers are here to share our top tips and tools of the trade.
In this workshop from the Market Garden team at Lauriston Agroecology Farm, we will cover:
- seed sowing (into takeaway container)
- soil blocking
- propagating from cuttings
- transplanting (tomato plants)
Who is this for?
This workshop is for home growers, allotment holders and aspiring growers, with content aimed at adults and interested young people (not so much for children).
What is Lauriston Agroecology Farm?
Lauriston Farm is a 100 acre farm in north Edinburgh, growing food for the neighbourhood and bringing back biodiversity through agroecology. The farm is run by a local co-operative, using a community-based, wildlife-friendly approach to bring the land back to life and connect it to a wider local food system. Come along to find out more
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
