Christmas rings with sleigh bells. Spring is heard in playful birdsong. Summer pulses with the rhythmic beat of festival drums. Every season has a sound.
Lent is a season in the Church’s calendar marking 40 days before Easter. It is a time of reflection—a season of restraint and contemplation. Its music has a sound, too—subdued and measured, with sparse melodies, unresolved chords, and moments of stillness that seem to hang in the air.
St Michael and All Saints, Tollcross, Edinburgh, presents an evocative programme of music for Lent on Sunday 16 March at 15:00. A chance to hear music that holds back, leaves space, and echoes the season’s sense of searching and stillness.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
