A local church is running a smear campaign — but one that inspires rather than insults.
On Ash Wednesday (5th March 2025), priests are rubbing ashes on people’s foreheads in an ancient ritual that speaks of human frailty, the shortness of life, and the possibility of renewal.
Anyone who wishes can experience this ceremony at St Michael and All Saints, Brougham Street, at 7:30pm — accompanied by gorgeous choral music, rich in centuries of tradition, designed to stir the soul.
