We would love you to join us at Moonwake Taproom on The Shore in Leith to celebrate Waitangi Day over the course of three days.

Waitangi Day Celebration

About Waitangi Day Celebration

A WEEK LONG KIWI CELEBRATION DURING NEW ZEALAND BEER MONTH!

Waitangi Day is the national day of New Zealand and marks the anniversary of the initial signing – on 6 February 1840 – of the Treaty of Waitangi, which is regarded as the founding document of the nation.

We’ll be highlighting Moonwake beers made with NZ hops, brewed by our Kiwi head brewer and co-founder. We also have our exclusive Kiwi Sour that is launching at the taproom, with live music to accompany the festivities. All joined together by amazing kai (food)!

6TH FEB - 7PM: NZ THEMED PUB QUIZ
An evening packed with questions related to your favourite island in the Pacific, where winners get a £50 bar tab! Free to enter, featuring Loser's prizes, best team name prize, with lots of craft beers, wines and spirits!

7TH FEB - 5PM: KIWI SOUR BEER LAUNCH WITH UNCLE JACK'S BAND
A wee taste of home for our Head Brewer, Vinny: a sour beer loaded with Kiwifruit. A true slice of Aotearoa made in Alba. Be the first to try this 5.5% sour beer at our exclusive launch! To top it off, we are joined by Uncle Jack's Band in the evening for a full celebratory experience!

8TH FEB - 7PM: WAITANGI DAY CELEBRATION
On the Saturday we will celebrate with music, food, and a carefully curated kiwi playlist to go with the evening! During the day, the Six Nations rugby will be on full blast as well.

It shall be a celebration of all things Kiwi including beers brewed in the UK with New Zealand hops and of course all of our beers designed by our Head Brewer, Vinny, from New Zealand.

Book a table at our website, it's a free event!
