Join us for a work in progress sharing of a new musical comedy inspired by the Greek myth of Echo, a nymph who was cursed to only repeat the words of other people. Created by director writer Sarah Marie Mooney and actor writer Anne Yeomans.
This contemporary feminist retelling follows a singer-songwriter who, just after being offered a record deal, falls under a spell that forces her to only perform covers. As her creative identity (and chance at musical stardom) slips away, she must break the enchantment and reclaim her voice before it’s too late.
We'll share a few scenes and a song, along with a discussion about where the project might go next. Come and be part of the development of this new piece of work by offering your feedback! Wine/soft drinks will be provided to everyone in the audience.
And if you'd like to stay and chat after the event, we've booked tables in George IV Bar just down the road from the venue.
