Echo: a musical sharing

About Echo: a musical sharing

Join us for a work in progress sharing of a new musical comedy inspired by the Greek myth of Echo, a nymph who was cursed to only repeat the words of other people. Created by director writer Sarah Marie Mooney and actor writer Anne Yeomans.

This contemporary feminist retelling follows a singer-songwriter who, just after being offered a record deal, falls under a spell that forces her to only perform covers. As her creative identity (and chance at musical stardom) slips away, she must break the enchantment and reclaim her voice before it’s too late.

We'll share a few scenes and a song, along with a discussion about where the project might go next. Come and be part of the development of this new piece of work by offering your feedback! Wine/soft drinks will be provided to everyone in the audience.

And if you'd like to stay and chat after the event, we've booked tables in George IV Bar just down the road from the venue.

Follow our Instagram page for more updates @echo_theatre_project

ACCESSIBILITY:
The sharing performance will be captioned. Please let us know when booking if you require this so we can reserve you a seat to ensure full view of the screen.

The main entrance to the church is up four steps with a handrail. Step free access is available via a door to the right of the building, please ring the bell for attention. Please note that there is a tight turn in this passageway.

There is lift access to the lower levels of the building where The Studio is. If you require use of the lift, please let us know when booking so we can ask the venue to have the caretaker available to assist. A standard accessible toilet is available on the ground floor and lower level.
