Kate Colin is a paper folding artist and one of Dovecot’s most popular workshop tutors. Join her to learn how she has developed her design practice and take inspiration for how you can create your own paper works of art.
Kate will talk through her creative journey including how her appreciation of geometric form was inherited from her mathematician father who made polyhedral models in his spare time. She will discuss how her studio, founded in 2014, manufactures products for both residential interiors and commercial clients. Today, all her work is produced in small limited edition quantities and made entirely by hand using traditional folding and fabric pleating techniques – providing an inspiration to anyone embarking on their own creative career.
Kate will discuss paper folding and it's applications with a Q&A followed by a book signing.
The new book Paper Folding: Learn in a Weekend, is published by Skittledog Books and will be available to buy at Dovecot.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
