Join us for Edinburgh’s first presentation of Pina Bausch’s The Nelken Line.
Inspired by Moyna’s exhibition Space Shuffle, and her long-standing fascination with the work of Pina Bausch, the performance will take place amongst the historic monuments and panoramic city views of Calton Hill.
The Nelken Line is an iconic piece that encapsulates the four seasons through a sequence of simple gestures. The legendary spring, summer, autumn, winter sequence is from one of Pina Bausch’s most celebrated works, Nelken, and is accompanied by a recording of Louis Armstrong and his Hot Five’s West End Blues (1928).
For this performance local people drawn from an open call have come together to take part in this work.
No booking required, simply visit Calton Hill anytime between 4.30-6.30pm on Saturday 17 August to experience The Nelken Line. If you require access information, please visit our website or get in contact.
Please note that this is a durational performance, taking place at approximately 15-minute intervals between 4.30pm-6.30pm.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
