About singing for lung health:
Singing together can make a world of difference to those living with breathlessness related to long term respiratory conditions. Breathing techniques used in singing can be used to manage symptoms of breathlessness as a complement to medical management. Singing also offers the opportunity to connect with others going through the same thing, making friends and building community.
About the singers:
The Cheyne Gang is a singing for breathing charity that runs singing groups around Edinburgh and the Borders for anyone living with breathlessness and training song leaders for this specialist work across Scotland.
The Warblers is a singing group in East Lothian and Midlothian for anyone with a lung condition or who struggles with breathlessness, including those with long covid.
Castle Chorus is Edinburgh's folk and roots community choir and Lauderdale Community Choir is a mixed voiced choir based in Lauder in the Scottish Borders.
Robyn Stapleton is an award-winning singer and song leader who shares her talent and passion for traditional music with audiences and communities throughout Scotland and internationally. She leads The Cheyne Gang's Gilmerton group.
