Citadel Arts Group ('one of Scotland's best-known community theatre groups' Joyce Macmillan) explores the stories behind the Union Canal and some of the people linked to it.
Did you know that the body of George Meikle Kemp who designed the Scott Monument was fished out of the canal? Was he mugged, murdered or just fell in drunk?
Did you know that the tunnel under Prospect Hill near Calendar Park was dug because Sir William Forbes didn't want his mansion and grounds overlooked by the Union Canal?
Back in the 1940s, a female Factory Inspector investigated a notorious industrial accident at the Rubber Mill beside the canal at Fountainbridge.
Would you believe that is wasn't until the 1980s that women had full rights in the St Andrew Boating Club on the canal?
Citadel uses humour and music to uncover fascinating aspects of Edinburgh heritage.
Directed by Mark Kydd, with Ashley Barlow, Jim Bryce, Grant MacIver and Deborah Whyte.
