Kintsugi (golden join) is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with lacquer and powdered gold.
It is built on the idea that in embracing flaws and imperfections you can create something even more beautiful.
In this 3 hour workshop we will be practicing a modern version of Kintsugi using golden metallic powder and epoxy resin to create a unique golden restoration.
Ideally each participant should bring 3-4 broken ceramics to be repaired. Items such as bowls, vases and plates .
Ticket price includes a Kintsugi Kit to practice more restorations at home .
Suitability: Beginner up, 18+
What we provide: Kintsugi kit, & tea and coffee (*please bring 2-4 ceramic items requiring repair to work on).
Workshop Details:
🗓️ Sunday 17th March 1pm-4pm
Instructor: Sherri Conn
Sherri has worked as a professional ceramics restorer for over 12 years. She has a particular passion for the Japanese art of Kintsugi, a method of ceramics restoration that highlights imperfections rather than hiding them.
