Are you a budding young singer with a passion for classical voice?
Join our Vocal Taster Day, an immersive experience designed for classical singers aged 13-18, ready to take their singing journey to the next level.
What to Expect
Performance Classes: Refine your stage presence with expert tuition from our specialist singing teachers who will guide you in the nuances of captivating your audience and expressing artistic depth through vocal mastery.
Coachings: Receive one-on-one sessions with our Director of Music, John Cameron, who will provide constructive feedback tailored to your unique voice. Uncover your strengths, address challenges, and discover the keys to unlocking your full vocal potential.
Ensemble Activities: Collaborate with fellow passionate singers in an engaging ensemble activity. Experience the joy of harmonising with others and creating musical connections through the Scratch Choir (music will be provided in advance).
Advisory Auditions: Do you love to sing? Are you dreaming of becoming a professional musician? If so, specialist music education could be for you. Sign up for a short Advisory Audition for Scotland’s only full-time vocal programmes for pupils aged 13-18. One song will be performed to a small and friendly panel after which feedback will be given. If the panel think you would be suited to the programmes on offer at St Mary's Music School, you will be invited for a formal audition. Please note, this is a classical singing programme therefore pop/rock, jazz and musical theatre repertoire will not be accepted.
Concert: Cap off the day with a spectacular concert, showcasing the collective talents of all participants. This is your chance to shine on stage, sharing the progress you've made throughout the day with friends, family, and peers.
Who can attend?
If you have been receiving singing lessons for at least 12 months, this is the perfect opportunity for you. If you are wanting to take your singing to the next level but don't know where to start or have your sights set on becoming a professional singer, St Mary's Music School is here to help.
