Sunny days could feel as elusive as unicorns in Scotland. With his photographs of Edinburgh, Zorbay Cetin invites the viewers to stop worrying about clouds and appreciate the briefest peek of the sun, along with darker scenes emerging in its absence, offering an excuse for slowing down for a few minutes to reflect on what we have and what we don’t, and how equally beautiful both could be.
For his work, the photographer focuses on often-unconscious emotional responses given to fleeting everyday scenes, thoroughly enjoying the performative aspect of photography. He is interested in identifying and rapidly recording those moments of elevated emotions for later examination. He aims to use photography as a tool for exploration, inviting viewers to do the same through unadulterated presentations of his experiences.
