Samedia Shebeen presents
TOYA DELAZY
(Kwa-Zulu Natal, ZA)
DJ Mango Park
(Baile LDN)
Plus Residents
Toya Delazy is a singer, producer, singer, pianist and powerhouse from KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Now based in London her tunes are laced with fusion of club rhythms from her two homes. She?s collaborated with heavyweights Scratchclart aka Scratcha DVA, LR Groove, KG, Tash LC and Ahadadream. She is the self-proclaimed "mother of Afro-rave" and has made a career of breaking down musical and cultural boundaries with her music ranging from UK Funky to GQOM breaks to hefty 200bpm pounding gabba to extraordinarily complex polyrhythms, her beats and rhymes are multilingual, multicultural, multidimensional. A must-see live!
Toya will be appearing with her DJ Mango Park, an old friend of Samedia who is also the co-founder of BAILE LDN, a clubnight in London that has ignited the baile funk scene in the city - and we'll get a taste of some of the freshest funk sounds coming out of Brasil too.
Our residents will be on hand to bookend the night. It's going to be a big bad Samedia session - see you there!
