Broken Foundation in Association with Elicit Music Present:
PLEIADES & DEAD BIRD + Support from VOID OF LIGHT at Legends in Edinburgh on Sunday 15th October 2023. A night of Post-prefixed alternative music in this stacked line-up in the nations capital, the only Scottish Date for this wonderful tour.
PLEIADES:
Encouraging themselves to be seen as an anomaly of the alternative world, Manchester based Post Hardcore outfit Pleiades have spent the time since their formation cultivating an artistic, heavy sound that leaves them unbound by categorisation. Inspired by stories of empathy and human nature, they aim to be the sculptors of a bold new sonic landscape.
Following recent singles ‘Stomach’ and ‘Looming’, incoming single 'Siberian' (produced by Joe Clayton [Pijn, Leeched]) reflects the story of Alexander I, a Russian emperor in the 1800s alleged to have faked his own death to live a life of isolation and solitude. Centered around world-inspired rhythms, exotic guitar work, weaving basslines and a massive, hooking chorus, the band’s most urgent track to date is set for release on April 28th 2023 alongside the announcement of the band’s debut album ‘Affinity With’, due late September 2023.
DEAD BIRD:
Dead Bird is a band from the UK heavily inspired by post rock and screamo. Born from death and loss, the band brought together five people bonded in music and friendship. Choosing the name Dead Bird symbolises finding hope, beauty and opportunity in our bleakest moments. A cathartic outpouring of grief and emotion that forms something stronger. A dead bird doesn’t necessarily portend physical death, but metaphorical death. The dead bird marks the end of your search and struggle. It symbolises the end of something and the start of something else.
VOID OF LIGHT:
Six Piece Post-Metal from the Capital of Scotland, Edinburgh. The band have been going from strength to strength supporting the likes of Ithaca, Pupil Slicer, Hundred Year Old Man and Armed for the Apocalypse and completing a UK tour with fellow posties, Codespeaker.
