Fundraising Ceilidh on Thursday 12 October in Edinburgh in aid of a local charity - the Lyme Resource Centre Scotland - a charity focussing on the education of the public and health professionals about Lyme Disease.
https://www.lymeresourcecentre.com
The mission of the charity is to educate the public and healthcare professionals about Lyme disease and other tick-borne illnesses. One of my friend’s sons has been severely impacted by Lyme disease as a result of a tick bite whilst completing his Duke of Edinburgh Award in the Scottish Hills a few of years ago. There are a large number of people in the UK badly affected as a result of this little mite and for some it can be truly devastating. The LRC aims to educate the general public to help understand what preventions to take and to ensure that healthcare professionals are adequately equipped to properly diagnose at an early stage.
Get your dancing shoes on and come and join us on 12 October 2023 at The Central Hall in Tollcross. The Shandoneers will be walking us through the various dances, a fabulous selection of street food and refreshments will be on offer and we will also have raffle tickets available for purchase on the night with the chance to win some exciting prizes! (Ticket price of £60/ahead includes an unlimited selection of street foods (savoury & sweet) and a half bottle of wine/prosecco - tickets available from rachel.lederf@amatiglobal.com or 07979 601223)
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
