Take part in fun hands-on experiences exploring how satellites help us monitor and understand our home, planet Earth. Here’s an Earth shot of some of the activities to be enjoyed:
Satellite crafts: Make and take home your own satellite models.
GPS tracking: How quick are your reactions to ‘tag’ marine animals including sharks, turtles and whales?
Penguin poo from space: Explore satellite images of Antarctica and from observations of poo, determine which locations have penguin colonies!
Satellite imagery interactives: Explore satellite imagery from the NASA Earth Observatory at iPad Stations.
Tiger and elephant tracking: Read a story of a tiger whose travels were documented through GPS tracking. Match up the route using stamps on a TigerTracks postcard.
Satellites through the ages: Tracing activities, with light boxes of satellites past, present and future. Take home your creation.

Infra-red camera station: Explore beyond the visible with infra-red camera interactives on a big screen.

Dynamic Earth is one of 22 organisations taking part in Our World From Space – a new national science engagement programme – led by the UK Association for Science and Discovery Centres, funded by the UK Space Agency and Natural Environment Research Council.
