For Doors Open Days we are delighted to invite you to explore Panmure House as we celebrate Adam Smith’s 300th birthday year.
About Adam Smith’s Panmure House: Doors Open Day
This is a fantastic opportunity to step inside this historic building and learn about its distinguished past, present and future before the end of Smith’s tercentenary year.
Today the house is a centre of excellence for the study of contemporary economics, a place of reflection on the legacy of Adam Smith, and a venue for social and economic debate. Not normally open to the public, we are delighted to be able to welcome visitors into the House to explore the final remaining home of Adam Smith.
Set foot in the room where Smith produced a further four editions of his magnum opus The Wealth of Nations, and a further two editions of his first major work The Theory of Moral Sentiments. All ages are welcome with children's activities available.
This self-guided tour is free and non-ticketed. Open 10:00-16:00 with last admittance at 15:30 each day.
