What we can learn from Maya history about sustainable pathways for urban life? Did the ‘Ancients’ really kill people for the gods?
In this free lecture series, Professor Elizabeth Graham of the Institute of Archaeology at University College London will explore the history of the Maya. After introducing Precolumbian Maya civilisation, these talks will discuss Maya intellectual achievements, what we can learn from Maya history about sustainable pathways for urban life, whether the ‘Ancients’ really killed people for the gods, and much more.
This series is free and open to all, but places are limited to watch in person in Edinburgh. Register for your free place on the Society's website.
