Late‘n’Live

About Late‘n’Live

A star studded comedy event and a must for any Fringe bucket list, Gilded Balloon once again presents Late’n’Live - with huge names including Olga Koch, Vittorio Angelone, Catherine Bohart and more announced for 2023, plus an all-female MC line-up including Alison Spittle, Kiri Pritchard-McLean, Jay Lafferty, Michelle Brasier and Sikisa bringing a new lease of life to one of the Fringe’s most iconic shows.

The Fringe’s #1 late night show and a guaranteed unforgettable night of live comedy, Late’n’Live was founded in 1986 and is now known as a stage where almost every notable name in comedy has performed - from Dylan Moran to Aisling Bea, Bill Bailey to Tim Minchin, John Bishop to Johnny Vegas; the list of Late’n’Live’s comedy pedigree is endless. The late-night classic moved to an earlier time slot in 2022, now kicking off at 11.30pm for 25 shows this Fringe.

Taking place in Teviot’s Debating Hall, a line-up of your favourite comics will take to the stage, expertly compèred by some of the most experienced MCs in the business. Creating an ever-evolving show, Gilded Balloon’s Artist Directors Katy and Karen Koren have introduced an all-female MC line-up for the second year running, building a show where comics are more willing to take risks and give their very best to the audience.

2023 will once again see the return of comedy’s finest from across the Fringe programme as Jay Lafferty, Kiri Pritchard-McLean, Sikisa, Alison Spittle and Michelle Brasier add their own flavour to the late-night party atmosphere as resident MCs.

Live at the Apollo and Have I Got News for You favourite Kiri Pritchard-McLean lands at Late’n’Live with her powerhouse comedy whilst Scottish stand-up phenomenon Jay Lafferty represents the homeland, as regularly seen on both TV and radio. One to watch on the comedy circuit, BBC, ITV and Comedy Central star Sikisa will spice things up, alongside award-winning Irish comedian turned talk show host Alison Spittle and Australian actor and comedian Michelle Brasier, who round off the star-studded all-female MC line-up for Late’n’Live 2023.

Featuring wall-to-wall laughs and all-round hilarity, fans can laugh the night away and end a day at the Fringe on a high, with some top comedians included in 2023’s Late’n’Live line-up including: Vittorio Angelone, Olga Koch, Catherine Bohart, Tom Ballard, Helen Bauer, Chloe Petts, Mawaan Rizwan, Ruben Kaye, Max & Ivan, Jarred & Hobbit, Gillian Cosgriff, Myra Dubois, Markus Brigstocke, Lara Ricote, Luke Kempner and more set to be announced! A staple on the Edinburgh Fringe scene since the 80s, Late’n’Live has earned its status as a gig that every comic needs to have done at least once.

Italian-Irish comedy star Vittorio Angelone swapped his music career for the stand-up life as he climbed the ranks, winning Best Newcomer at 2022’s Edinburgh Fringe and will prove his mettle on Late’n’Live’s hallowed stages, alongside Olga Koch who will bring her award-winning brand of comedy to Teviot’s Debating Hall, seen everywhere from Mock the Week to QI. After sell-out shows and rave reviews at her early Edinburgh appearances, Irish star Catherine Bohart has gone on to become one of the most sought-after comedians in the UK and Ireland, featuring on 8 Out of 10 Cats and A League Of Their Own and co-hosting hit podcast Trusty Hogs. Acclaimed comedy double act Max & Ivan also join the Late’n’Live line-up, and have taken their intricate multi-character live shows around the world from SXSW to Adelaide Fringe.

Expect an evening where anything can (and usually does) happen - Late’n’Live is the prime opportunity to see your favourite acts embrace the free for all nature of a Fringe institution. Any Fringe experience simply is not complete until you’ve laughed into the small hours with famous faces, outrageous jokes and complete and total unpredictability.

Head to Teviot’s Debating Hall for the Edinburgh Festival Fringe’s most famous comedy night, providing the very best of the Fringe each and every night - you don’t want to miss it!
