Why we want you to come to the World Café!
Without your voice we can’t really talk about what’s important to our communities, our city, or our identity in a true way. We need your thoughts, experiences, and ideas to help us map a way towards a home and a city where everyone’s culture is celebrated and respected, and where our cultural lives become the glue that holds us in peace together for the future.
The conversation will be facilitated, and you are free to join in in whatever way is best for you. The world café is a relaxed and safe space for everyone. There will be coffee and snacks to keep you going!!
What is a World Café?
A world café is a good, simple process for bringing people together around questions that matter. We believe that people can work together no matter who they are, where they are from and what they know – we are all equal and we are all valuable, and by talking together we can use our collective wisdom to shape the future another way. Edinburgh is Scotland’s most diverse city and many people with experience of migration wonder how to enjoy and celebrate their own culture, in their own way. They wonder how to belong to two places at the same time. They wonder how to meet and interact with people from other cultures and overcome the stereotypes and assumptions that often create barriers.
Free but booking is required via https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/cultural-rights-world-cafe-tickets-630234507377
