Location: Inch House Community Centre 225 Gilmerton Road Edinburgh EH16 5TH
Come and try your favourite dance style with classes for kids and adults including ballet, jazz, commercial, flamenco, tap, and historical, presented and led by specialist dance performers and teachers: Dancemasters, Edinburgh Dance School, TuFlamenco, and Les Danses Antiques.
Watch one of our dance performances during lunchtime.
Or swirl in the Inch House Ballroom in 1930s dance-party style with live music by the local Castle Rock Jazz Band.
There will be a community café on the premises with home baking available to help you keep going throughout the day. This is one event definitely not to be missed!
International Dance Day was created by the Dance Committee of the International Theatre Institute ITI, the main partner for the performing arts of UNESCO in 1982. It aims to bring together dance lovers across the globe as well as to raise awareness about dance value for people and the importance of dance as an art form. Our dance celebration at Inch House has been organised by Inch Community Association with generous financial support from Cameron Toll Community Fund.
Please note that classes are on a first-come, first-served basis. The organisers reserve the right to change or alter the programme if required.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
