Hopetoun House will open for the 2023 season on Friday 7 April. After a long winter, the shutters are being drawn back in the House and the Grounds are coming to life again, and we can’t wait to welcome our new and returning visitors.
This season we are open 5 days a week from 11:00 to 17:00 (last admission 16:00, closed on Tues & Wed).
Grounds:
Our grounds offer a space of beauty and tranquillity with wonderful trails and scenic walks to explore. Look out for the daffodils and bluebells along the Spring Garden Trail. The Sea Walk Trail is guaranteed to give you impressive views over the Firth of Forth and the magnificent three bridges. Dogs on leads are very welcome too!
Drop into our Education Room anytime between noon and 4pm on Sat 8 April 2023 and Sun 9 April 2023 to take part in Hopetoun’s Easter activities. Try the trails around the Grounds and some Easter crafts in the Education room. Fun for all the family! Suitable for all ages and abilities. Don’t forget to visit the Ranger Centre, for interactive displays and the chance to handle wildlife finds from the grounds.
House & Grounds:
Enjoy all that’s on offer in the grounds and also explore the architectural magnificence of Hopetoun House, home to the Hope family since 1699. Our friendly team of guides and volunteers are waiting to show you the stunning interiors which have remained virtually unchanged for three centuries.
The Stables Kitchen:
Exploring is hungry work! The Stables Kitchen will once again be serving their delicious range of refreshments.*
* Please note that Afternoon Tea is not available over the Easter Weekend
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
