*Please note this workshop is for women, gender minority, and queer DIY musicians only.
Alt Milk Academy, part of Alt Milk Records, runs music business workshops for women, gender minority, and queer DIY musicians who want to learn how to market and promote their music.
In this two hour workshop Ashley Stein, founder of Alt Milk Records, will talk you through how to create a plan that will allow you to schedule all of your releases for the rest of 2023. We will discuss:
Pre-Planning - Setting up and optimising all online platforms, creating assets, artist branding.
Release - Making a press pack, creating and implementing a marketing campaign, promoting your music on a budget.
Follow up - How to keep people interested in your song after it's initial release.
There will be hand out's provided but you will need something to take notes with to get the most out of this workshop.
Ashley Stein is a writer, musician, and music marketer with over 10 years experience of working in the music industry. They are the Artist in Residence for Music Business and Sound Production at Edinburgh College, a co-founder of POWA (Protection of Women in the Arts in Scotland), and an associate lecturer at Napier University where they teach on the Music and Entrepreneurship module.
